Activity 2: Finding Your Own Data

Relationships exist all around us in the world. Flower sales increase near Valentine's Day. Salary increases often come from years of experience. The human body is relatively proportional. Organisms in nature often have a relationship between size and age. In this assignment, you are going to discover your own relationship that you can examine and present for the class. You may use the internet and any materials that you can find that will be helpful in class.

1. You will be working in a group of four
2. As a group identify something that you would like to determine whether there exists a relationship. Let me know what you are going to explore before moving on.
3. Create an Excel File. Row one will be your categories.
4. Collect your data. You must be able to collect your data within our class. Data can come either through physical means or from the internet.
5. Use Excel to analyze your data
6. Create a Presentation about your data
   • Include the relationship you are exploring, why you chose it, and what type of relationship you thought might exist
   • Include how you collected your data
   • Include your analysis with tables, regression equations, and r2 values.
   • Include a Conclusion about the process, the analysis, and the implications of this analysis.
